TPSDI's team of subject matter experts and faculty bring extensive experience from the power sector, ensuring that our trainees receive the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge. TPSDI's comprehensive courses cover a wide range of areas, from power generation to transmission and distribution, to renewable/green energy, industrial safety. TPSDI also trains people on power system and its components and equipment such as receiving stations, substations, Gas Insulated Substation (GIS). TPSDI training also covers power system automation.

TPSDI has courses for upcoming areas such as using solar PV for electrical vehicle (EV) charging, green hydrogen, and micro grids.
The safety program covers the gamut of the workforce, whether on Tata Power rolls or contractual, and is a crucial aspect of the strong safety culture in Tata Power. TPSDI's training in conjunction with the safety culture of Tata Power has been instrumental in reducing safety accidents, incidents, and time lost due to injury. TPSDI's comprehensive safety program for Tata Power was also recognised with a gold award at the 2020 Brandon Hall HCM Awards. All this safety experience and expertise is also poured into the courses offered to professionals and students outside of Tata Power. All TPSDI courses necessarily incorporate allied safety. TPSDI also offers independent courses, backed with experience and expertise, in foundational safety, safety in critical areas such as working in confined spaces, working at heights, excavation, shoring and sloping, electrical safety, etc. TPSDI also trains supervisors and engineers and managers to be safety leaders and inculcate safety culture in their organisations. Students coming to TPSDI from engineering colleges, polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) get a good grounding in safety practices preparing them for the industry.
