Finally, TPSDI can also enable organisations to carry out a TNE - a Training Needs Evaluation, which will justify the effectiveness of the TNA that has been carried out and evaluate if the recommended training interventions are correct.

TPSDI, with its long legacy in the power sector along with the experience and in-house expertise in training and capability building, can build a comprehensive capability building roadmap for organisations in the similar and allied industries. A capability building roadmap defines the path in terms of which skills and competencies - that is, capabilities - are needed when and where and in what number keeping in mind the organisation's business ambitions and objectives. A capability roadmap focuses on defining what underlying capabilities need to be developed to meet the needs of the future business, and how they might be developed through training interventions.

TPSDI has been successfully implementing a comprehensive Campus2Corporate program for Tata Power for over five years. Tata Power recruits a number of engineers and technical diploma graduates every year directly from their college campuses. TPSDI's Campus2Corporate program enables these new recruits to transition from their academic environment to the corporate in a manner that enables the new hires to be productive and ready for work from the day they join the workforce proper.

TPSDI can similarly design and implement Campus2Corporate programs for organisations in the power sector and allied industries. New hires can be trained in streams and according to specializations - maintenance, operations, transmission, distribution, hydros, renewables, solar, etc. Skill enhancement programs and especially programs that enable these new recruits to try out their academic know-how in a safe environment helps them adapt to their responsibilities and roles quickly.

Additionally, TPSDI, can also include soft skills training that enables new hires to also understand workplace dynamics, professional etiquette, basic communication and email writing skills, teamwork, problem-solving, etc.

Based on the TNA and the Capability Building Roadmap, TPSDI can design and implement training that will enable the organisations in the power sector and allied industries. TPSDI can also design an organisations capability building processes and integrate training in it.

Sometimes, organisations have a roadmap or plan but lack the in-house expertise and scale to implement organisational wide training or especially training in niche areas of the power sector. TPSDI, with its ability to dip into the vast pool of Tata Power's experts, can enable such organisations by designing and delivering the necessary training.

Organisations can reap benefits of setting up a dedicated training infrastructure that will enable them to build their capabilities identified through a training needs analysis and as required by the capability building roadmap. Often, however, organisations don't have the expertise or experience in setting up such a corporate academy.
